Lily Thank You Gift Pouch With Eco-Satin Ribbon
I've always found the idea of giving flowers fascinating! I came across some history about it and the tradition of gifting flowers can be traced back all the way to the Ancient Greeks. They associated flowers with gods and would bring floral offerings to temples.
I wanted to incorporate this idea into my handmade gift bags, where the symbol of a flower was placed onto a pouch, which would hold a gift and could be reused over and over again.

♦ HISTORY AND SYMBOLISM
- The lily is often associated with the story of Hera and Zeus. According to the myth, Zeus wanted baby Hercules to drink the milk of Hera, his wife. Because Hercules was born of another woman, Hera disagreed. Zeus brought Hercules to Hera to drink her milk while she was sleeping, but she awoke and pushed him away. The drops of milk that spilled on the ground grew into lilies.
- Yellow lilies symbolize thankfulness and desire for enjoyment.
